Trentwood Families,
As we move into May and the final seven weeks of the school year, I want to thank you for the partnership and support you’ve shown all year long. This is an exciting stretch for our students, and it’s also an important one. Our Standards Based assessments for grades 3-6 are underway, and they give us a clear picture of the growth your children have made and the skills they’re continuing to develop. Our staff has worked hard to prepare students through consistent instruction, targeted practice, and meaningful learning experiences. We’re proud of the effort our students are showing and we look forward to seeing our students show what they know. We appreciate your continued encouragement and support as we finish the year strong.
Here are a few reminders about clothing and our dress code as we move into much warmer weather:
Students’ names should be put on all outer clothing articles, and inside of their backpacks to avoid loss and help with identification. Dress Code
We follow two guidelines regarding clothing and other attire: respectful and safe.
We dress in a manner that is not distracting to learning.
We expect modest attire out of respect for all. (No bellies, No bottoms, No cleavage showing)
We wear clothing that does not suggest inappropriate activities for our students. We wear clothes and shoes that are safe for the playground and Health and Fitness.
If you have questions, please ask and we will work toward clarification.
We follow expectations set by each classroom(including specialists) for hats and hoods.
Also a quick reminder about bikes, scooters and skateboards:
BICYCLE/SCOOTER/SKATEBOARD POLICY
To ensure the safety of students, and due to the high rate of traffic and traffic speed on Wellesley, we highly recommend that students under 3rd grade not be allowed to ride bikes, scooters, or skateboards to school unless they have been trained and have experience. We further recommend that all children wear helmets. Children will need “bike” locks that they can manage independently. All bikes, scooters and skateboards should be locked up at the bike rack. All bikes, scooters, skateboards, etc. must be “walked” on the school grounds, and may not be played with during school hours. The school is not responsible for lost or stolen bicycles or scooters.
We have also been seeing a lot of high speed Surrons and similar high speed bikes on our campus after hours. Please remind our students that these types of bikes should not be on the playground area.
