Principal's Letter

Dear Trent Families,

While I was writing this section of the newsletter, I was looking back at few from this time last year and the year before. We’ve had many years of things that didn’t pertain to teaching and learning, therefore I am grateful for the season we have now. With the year winding down and the busyness of testing still in front of us, I hope that you plan for a few academics during the summer months. This can include daily reading habits, planning activities to educational places, and incorporating math skills into the daily routine of life. The more you can infuse these things into your student’s daily summer habits the better off they will be to start next school year! Just something to think about coming up!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Warmly,

Brandon Dunn

Counselor's Corner!!

Hi Trent Knights!

In May we celebrate National Screen Free Week! This is a great time to make a conscious effort with your child and yourself to enjoy other activities apart from screens. Especially with the weather being quite lovely lately, it makes going outside an easy alternative. See how many days you can go with little to no screen time! An entire week???

Some ideas to partake in, instead of screen time:

  • Family dinner making or have a picnic outside

  • Art activities such as: making fortune tellers or painting kindness rocks.

  • Take a walk to a park or around the neighborhood

  • Play catch, frisbee, or another fun game outside

  • Go for a bike ride or fly a kite

  • Draw with chalk outside

  • Doing a deep spring clean throughout the house

Outdoor Games

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and please never hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
