Principal's Letter

Dear Trent Families,

As the year winds down, I hope you take time to reflect on all the great growth that your student has made both academically and personally. The is why the end of the year is a bittersweet time for me as I get excited for a fresh start in the fall, I mourn the end of great things that have hit a good stride here. However, all good things must come to end and regardless, everyone needs a respite from the hard work of school. As the weather continues to improve, I want to remind you of some things that are helpful here at Trent.

When picking your student up at the end of the day, please do not call the office between 2:45 - 3:30 to excuse them. At the end of the day, we are working to get 430 students where they need to go. Therefore, if you are trying to adjust a student’s pick-up at the last minute, it is extremely taxing on our office staff and the teacher. Thank you for partnering with us in this ask as it about student safety and getting kids where they need to go.

Lastly, we hope to see you at our PTA BBQ on June 6th from 5pm – 7pm. If you haven’t already you will see a flyer come home with RSVP information.

Warmly,

Brandon Dunn

Counselor's Corner!!

Hi Trent Knights!

In May we celebrate National Screen Free Week! This is a great time to make a conscious effort with your child and yourself to enjoy other activities apart from screens. Especially with the weather being quite lovely lately, it makes going outside an easy alternative. See how many days you can go with little to no screen time! An entire week???

Some ideas to partake in, instead of screen time:

  • Family dinner making or have a picnic outside

  • Art activities such as: making fortune tellers or painting kindness rocks.

  • Take a walk to a park or around the neighborhood

  • Play catch, frisbee, or another fun game outside

  • Go for a bike ride or fly a kite

  • Draw with chalk outside

  • Doing a deep spring clean throughout the house

Play a game
Paint
Outdoor Games

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and please never hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
