The calendar has been selected for the 2026-2027 school year. The calendar committee worked hard to present four viable calendar options to our staff before landing on the calendar that was selected. On March 26, the Board of Directors voted to adopt the calendar. Please note that snow make up days will be used on the first non-school day following the closure, with the exceptions of winter break, mid-winter break, and spring break.

Switch Lab Car
East Valley School District received a $150,000 grant from OPSI, with the help of ESD 101, to implement an electric vehicle program at East Valley Middle School. Jön Larson, our outstanding middle school teacher, will be trained this summer on the foundational curriculum to build a SwitchLab electric vehicle. Students will work in teams to assemble a road ready electric vehicle. The SwitchLab car is a reusable, kit car where the students will take a semester to build the vehicle from scratch, learn electrical components and then tear it down by the end of the semester to get it ready for the next semester’s students. This will be the first step to add an automotive program in the East Valley School District.

As you know, we've spent the past 9 months developing a strategic plan that will guide us for the next 6 years. It has been an exciting journey thus far with over 1,000 stakeholders who've played an integral role in the creation of our new plan. Thank you ever so much for sharing your input and voice!
As we near the completion, and subsequent sharing out of the strategic plan, we have one more piece that needs your attention. At the survey link below, we would appreciate your vote on what our "promise statement" will be. Of the four options available, we are looking for the statement you believe is one that encompasses and invigorates our purpose. The statement receiving the most votes will be visible on the plan and in the messaging of our work for years to come.
