Our Student Exhibition of Learning on April 30 was an incredible success and a powerful reminder of what makes our school community so special. From thoughtful presentations and creative displays to confident student voices sharing their growth, the evening showcased not just academic achievement, but perseverance, curiosity, and pride in learning. It was inspiring to see families, staff, and community members engaging with students as they demonstrated their hard work across disciplines. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this meaningful event—our students truly rose to the occasion, and it was a joy to celebrate their accomplishments together as a community here at EVPP.

I also want to take a moment to recognize the exceptional team we have in our building. Our SSPs, classified staff, and certificated teachers are not only dedicated professionals, but genuinely wonderful people to work alongside each day. The care, flexibility, and commitment you bring to supporting students and one another does not go unnoticed! Whether you’re working behind the scenes or directly with students, your impact is felt in every corner of our school. I am deeply grateful for each of you and proud to be part of such a collaborative and compassionate team.

Finishing the Year with a Plan

Families play an incredibly important role in a student’s academic, social, and emotional growth. When families stay involved and connected to their child’s education, it makes a meaningful difference. Research shows that students with engaged families are more likely to:

Achieve stronger academic success

Take on more challenging classes

Feel more connected to their learning

Graduate at higher rates

Continue on to college, technical training, or other post–high school opportunities

Family involvement is one of the strongest predictors of student success—even more than factors like income level. Staying engaged can help support a child’s growth and open doors for their future. When families and educators work together, students benefit even more. This partnership helps schools better support each student’s needs and goals, especially as they begin planning for life after high school. In short, family engagement is a powerful way to help students build confidence, reach their goals, and prepare for a successful future. This is what makes Parent Partnership so special!

One of the ways we help students think about their future is through Schoolinks.com. SchooLinks offers features that allow students to explore, plan, and realize their postsecondary goals and provides ways for families to support this process. in grades 7-12 should be logging in and completing their grade-level tasks which allows them to:

Explore their interests and possible career paths

View their goals for after high school, including favorite colleges and careers

Stay updated on important events, reminders, and tasks

Research colleges, careers, costs, financial aid, and scholarships

Please encourage your student(s) to log in and complete their tasks by May 15th (except seniors, who have a due date of May 1st). If you need any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at lakinmh@evsd.org or 509-241-5432.

I so appreciate your support and the care you show for our students and school. I feel truly blessed to be a part of such a wonderful place.

PTO Newsletter

As we approach the end of another wonderful school year, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported and participated in our recent Book Fair. It was a huge success, and it was so great to see so many of our families enjoying the event and getting their hands on some great new reads.

We also want to give a special shoutout to Elsie Babbitt, who had a fantastic time serving as Principal for the Day last Wednesday!

Although the school year is winding down, we still have a few exciting opportunities to come together and support our school community. There are still a limited number of tickets available for our upcoming Mariners games on May 16, July 8, and September 6. If you are interested in purchasing tickets — or know someone who might be — please share the flyer and QR codes.

In addition, our final Skate Night of the year at Roller Valley will take place on May 18. Admission and rentals are $10/skater, we hope to see many of you there for a fun evening together!

As we begin planning for next school year, we would love to hear your ideas for future fundraisers or PTO-sponsored family events. Please feel free to share your suggestions with the PTO Board. Your participation and support not only help us move closer to our goal of purchasing a new playground, but also strengthen the connections that make our school community so special.

Thank you again for a fantastic school year. We truly appreciate your continued support and look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.

Thank you,

Jen Price, PTO President
